Coolblue wants to start delivering within thirty minutes from MiniMagazines and is therefore looking for consumers who have a spare space in their house or shed. This is what Coolblue boss Pieter Zwart tweeted today. Twitter followers suspect it is an April 1 joke.

Coolblue has taken a professional approach, as it even made a video and set up a webpage where people can sign up for a Mini Warehouse. "Whether you have space in your hallway, attic or living room, if you can store parcels there, we are happy," Coolblue writes on its website. "As a Mini Warehouse holder, you get a package to dress up your little warehouse, a discount on our entire product range and a lot of fun from your neighbours coming to pick up their parcels, of course." This seems like a good idea for residents who would like some extra contact with their neighbours. On the website, they can specify how many cubic metres they have left. More conspicuously, they also have to specify which coffee maker they have, and whether they have a moving window.

Package hugger wanted
Professionally handled or not, Twitter users don't seem to buy it. After all, this is not the first time Coolblue has made a big announcement about a new move, after which it turns out to be a stunt. On 5 December, it was still 'leaked' to the press that Coolblue would be taken over by a major foreign player. Later, it turned out it was about Santa Claus himself. Also last year, on 1 April Coolblue managed to make the news with a vacancy for 'Package Hugger': someone who would provide packages with just that little bit of extra care and love. It later turned out that this was an April 1 joke.
