Registration for BLMC's annual Interim Challenge has opened. The supply of interim managers is growing so fast that it is difficult for organisations to choose from the overwhelming offer. The Interim Challenge should reveal which managers stand head and shoulders above their peers.

This year will see the second edition of the Interim Challenge, aimed at any interim manager in supply chain management, operations and logistics. Participants will be judged on the basis of a real-life case about fictitious company The Lion Textile Group, which is in dire straits. An interim manager must turn the tide.

Interim managers participating in the Interim Challenge will have to prepare a plan of action for the case. They will be judged on their knowledge of chain cooperation and their experience with the coordination between departments such as sales, marketing, production, purchasing and logistics. "Precisely those are the crucial aspects of supply chain management, but knowledge of this field alone is not enough. The participants will have to call on all the competencies an interim manager should have," BLMC says in a press release.

'Survival of the fittest'

The first four interim managers will advance to the finals during 'Survival of the Fittest', BLMC's management conference on 10 January 2017. During this final, all participants will have the opportunity to pitch their plan of action for the case. The professional jury led by Prof Dr Robert Jan Blomme will choose the 'Supply Chain Interim Manager 2017'. Participants can register through BLMC's website until 31 October.
