Jack van der Veen is stepping down as chairman of the Logistics Management Association. In a letter to the members, Van der Veen informs that VLM has not been able to make sufficient progress under his leadership.

Jack van der Veen, a professor of Supply Chain Management at Nyenrode Business University, took up the chairmanship in 2013. Van der Veen is stepping down early because, in his view, the association has made too little progress. This was compounded by an unexpected financial setback in 2016. “As chairman, I have no choice but to take full
responsibility for this,” said Van der Veen, who explained that he does not have sufficient time to support the VLM in finding the right direction. Until a new successor is found, Van der Veen will continue to fulfil his duties as chairman.
