Coolblue has passed the €1 billion turnover mark. In 2017, the e-commerce company posted a sales increase of no less than 38 per cent to 1.2 billion euros.

This is according to the 2017 annual report published today. Coolblue's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) reached 21 million euros in the year. The retailer continued to focus on customer satisfaction and that paid off: the Net Promoter Score (NPS) came to 66.

CoolblueDelivered

Its own delivery service CoolblueBezorgt grew to 150 vans, 600 delivery drivers and eight depots in 2017. This makes Coolblue the largest white goods delivery company in the Netherlands, in its own words.

Expansion mega-warehouse

It also invested in warehousing. The mega warehouse in Tilburg was expanded by three halls and the two distribution centres were grouped together. Furthermore, Coolblue opened eight white goods depots and commissioned a new parcel machine.

Ceo Pieter Zwart speaks of the 'all-around best Coolblue year ever: "The strategy of continuously investing in our customer propositions is paying off. We achieved our biggest sales increase since we started and never made so many customers happy."

Outlook 2018: quarter more turnover

By focusing on further improving its customer propositions, Coolblue hopes to grow hard again this year, with sales expected to increase by a quarter to 1.5 billion euros this year.
