Picnic will now also deliver groceries on Sundays. After a trial in Utrecht, Ede and Veenendaal, the app only supermarket has decided to deliver seven days a week in other cities too.

Consumers can now opt for a twenty-minute Sunday time slot when placing their order. Michiel Muller, co-founder of Picnic, says this has been a desire of customers for some time.

Sunday delivery is currently only available in Utrecht, Zoetermeer, The Hague, Delft, Leiden and Almere. Soon, Picnic will expand the service to other cities.

New distribution centre Eindhoven

Last week, it was announced that Picnic is doubling its logistics capacity with a new distribution centre in Eindhoven. The new distribution centre covers an area of around eighteen thousand square metres and is intended for delivery to North Brabant. Indeed, from next month Picnic will deliver in Breda and Tilburg.

Picnic already has distribution centres in Nijkerk and Utrecht. This was followed in January by the opening of a distribution centre in Diemen to facilitate expansion to Amsterdam. With the fourth location, Picnic is doubling its logistics capacity; the DC in Eindhoven is almost as big as the three current locations combined.
