Online supermarket Picnic will now take returns with it from carrier Sandd. Customers can bring their returnable packages from other online shops with them when delivering their groceries.
Picnic will take the returns to a logistics hub, where Sandd will collect and process them daily. Earlier, the app-only supermarket collaborated with Wehkamp in Amersfoort for this purpose. Picnic then spoke of a "logical" step, because in this city a quarter of households have their returns delivered to their doorstep. "So it is easy and sustainable to take Wehkamp's return parcels and the effect is huge," said Picnic founder Michiel Muller.
Picnic returns service starts in Utrecht
The service will now be extended to all online shops. The returns service will start in Utrecht, but will eventually be rolled out to other cities.
