Coolblue has won the Dutch Logistics Prize 2018. The e-commerce giant received the award for its successful introduction of delivery service CoolblueBezorgt.
The Dutch Logistics Prize was awarded for the 34th time this week during the annual gala dinner of the Logistics Management Association (vLm). Jury chairman Prof Dr Jos van Hillegersberg presented the prize to Daphne Smit (CFO) and Remco de Jong (Head of delivery) of Coolblue.
At Coolblue, the customer is central
Coolblue introduced its own delivery service CoolblueBezorgt three years ago. The online retailer now delivers most of its refrigerators, washing machines and dryers itself. Van Hillegersberg says the introduction of CoolblueBezorgt illustrates the customer-centric approach of the web giant. "The company has implemented its own delivery service impressively and in a short time. This service, CoolblueBezorgt, is fully integrated into the customer journey and leads to increased customer satisfaction, fewer customer queries, fewer returns and revenue growth. This is an extra logistics service that pays for itself," said the chairman of the jury.
Setting an example for other companies
