Coolblue posted record sales of 1.35 billion euros last year. Operating profit was 27 million euros, up 28 per cent. The e-commerce giant is further expanding its own delivery service next year.

Last year, Coolblue passed the 1 billion euro mark, and this year that turnover rose further to 1.35 billion euros, and its operating profit (EBITDA) was also higher than ever at 27 million euros. The NPS, the measure of customer satisfaction, rose by 3 points to a score of 69.

Last year, the online retailer invested heavily in its own delivery service. For example, it introduced CoolblueFietst and started delivering and installing TVs. In seven major cities in the Netherlands and Belgium, Coolblue delivers 60 per cent of packages by bicycle.

"I am proud of our results and also positive about 2019″, explains ceo Pieter Zwart. "Energy-positive, because this year our new solar roof provides enough energy for our warehouse, for all our shops and even all the bikes of CoolblueFietst. We will therefore make even more customers happy this year and get to customers' doors more than 1 million times with our own delivery drivers - by camion or bike."
