Delhaize has opened collection points for bol.com in its stores. Belgian customers of the online shop are now no longer dependent on branches of Albert Heijn.

In the province of Antwerp, Delhaize stores now have collection points. Branches in the rest of Flanders will soon follow.

Bol.com was already working with collection points in Albert Heijn stores in Belgium. The cooperation between Albert Heijn and Delhaize, both part of Ahold Delhaize, was unclear for a long time. However, it was later announced that the supermarket chains would expand separately in Belgium. There would be no cannibalisation between the two brands, which also allowed Delhaize to expand with bol.com parcel outlets.

Delhaize sees the pick-up solution as a step towards greater sustainability. "The more parcels bol.com can bundle per delivery, the better for the environment and for mobility," said the mass retailer.
