Parcel delivery company Red je Pakketje opens drop-off points to make same day delivery also accessible for smaller webshops. The first drop-off points are already in use, next year the counter should reach two hundred.

Red je Pakketje provides same day and next day delivery for webshops. The company collects orders from webshops until late afternoon and delivers them to consumers' homes in the evening. Due to the high pick-up costs, same-day delivery was only feasible for the 5 per cent largest webshops, says Red je Pakketje. The drop-off network now allows smaller webshops to offer same-day shipping as well.

Two hundred drop-off points

The first thirty drop-off points are already in use. Next year, the parcel service wants to open a total of two hundred drop-off points. Where exactly they will be located depends on the demand from the web shops.

Bring parcels to drop-off points yourself

Smaller webshops that want to work with Red je Pakketje will have to deliver their parcels themselves to a drop-off point in the area during the day. This eliminates the call-out fees that Red je Pakketje usually charges. After the drop-off, the parcel is the responsibility of Red je Pakketje. If the recipient wants to change the address, this is done via Red je Pakketje's customer service. Webshops therefore do not have to stay open late at night for a few orders, claims the parcel delivery company.
