Organisations connected to iSHARE can now record with Poort8 which logistics parties they want to share which data with. This is because Poort8 - a technology company in the logistics sector - is the first party to be certified as an iSHARE Authorisation Registry. With the accession of Poort8 to the appointment system, the final link of iSHARE is live.

Poort8 enables chain parties to grant each other mutual rights to retrieve data. They record in the authorisation register of Poort8 with which logistics parties they want to share which data, for which purpose and for which period. Parties who then want access to that specific data report to Poort8, which checks whether the applicant is allowed to access that data.

'Spreading iSHARE like an oil slick'

Gerard van der Hoeven, chairman of the iSHARE Foundation, is pleased with the arrival of Poort8 as iSHARE Authorisation Register: "The authorisation register is an important part of iSHARE; here the agreements about 'who is allowed to do what and when' are recorded, easy to keep up to date and retrievable. I am pleased that we can now also quickly start with the first concrete practical situations. Situations where parties - who do not yet know each other - can start working together and sharing data."

"Control over data is now no longer a promise but a fact," says Willem Maagdenberg, founding partner of Poort8. "The next step is to develop successful value chains with logistics parties and spread the agreement system like an oil slick."

Poort8 also implementation partner

Poort8 has also joined the network of iSHARE Implementation Partners. As Implementation Partner, Poort8 assists organisations wishing to join the system with the technical implementation of iSHARE
