There will be a crisis team for the transport sector to limit the impact of the corona outbreak on the sector. That is what FNV Transport and Logistiek and employers' organisation Transport en Logistiek Nederland have decided.

The main aim of the crisis team is to prevent bankruptcies and preserve work and income. The sector employs some 8,000 companies and 160,000 workers, according to FNV. Willem Dijkhuizen, director FNV Transport and Logistics: "Truck drivers, like healthcare workers, are among the crucial professions. While in distribution transport the work is unstoppable, the transport of flowers is at a complete standstill. We need to come up with smart solutions for that together."

Social partners, in mutual cooperation with the Transport and Logistics Sector Institute (STL), SOOB and other relevant organisations, will deploy as many measures as possible to benefit the entire sector. The crisis team will still meet this week and said it will start communicating as soon as possible about the measures to be taken for the sector.
