Neighbourhood points network Homerr expands across the border. After significant growth in the Netherlands, the delivery service is moving into Belgium.
Homerr works with parcel points, both at private homes and at business locations with space opening hours. Consumers who are not at home can have their parcels delivered there directly, making the first delivery attempt successful. The company now has a network of 1,600 parcel points in the Netherlands.
Flanders expansion
"We see that the concept is catching on because consumers are looking for sustainable alternatives. A large proportion of consumers and webshops who choose Homerr also do so because of the sustainable and social aspect. This is no different in Flanders." says founder Juriaan Matthijssen. Last quarter, Homerr opened a network of Service Points in Flanders. To this it now adds private parcel points (BuurtPunten). According to Homerr, many private individuals sign up as parcel points for the social contact.
International customers
Homerr works a lot for international customers, including Zalando, Vinted, Decathlon and Asos, and therefore sees it as a logical step to expand into Belgium. "We also see a stronger focus on sustainability among our partners. In addition to logistics managers, we now also speak to sustainability managers, for example." says Matthijssen. "How can we also make sustainability as customer-friendly as possible? And how can we make consumers more aware of their online purchases?"
