An Amazon distribution centre is rising in Mönchengladbach, Germany. The logistics centre, which is being built just twenty kilometres from the Dutch border, is expected to be used for delivery to our country.

This is what RetailNews writes on the basis of reports in the Rheinische Post. The newspaper reports that in December 2017, the Mönchengladbach municipality issued a building permit for Amazon's twelfth distribution centre in Germany. Amazon will have Zalando as a neighbour. This e-commerce giant also uses the distribution centre in the German town partly for shipping to the Netherlands.

Amazon Prime to the Netherlands

Amazon introduced subscription service Prime in our country in November. For a fixed annual fee, consumers enjoy free delivery, cloud storage and can watch movies and series on streaming service Prime Video. The free music service Prime Music and the free books and magazines Prime Reading are not yet available in the Netherlands.

Vos Logistics handles goods transhipment for Amazon

It was recently announced that logistics service provider Vos Logistics is handling goods for Amazon in the Netherlands. Pictures that Marketingfuel managed to obtain show yellow Amazon signs at Vos Logistics in Oss. The goods are brought from Amazon's European warehouses to Oss, to be then forwarded to distribution centres of last-mile carriers.
