The collective agreement for professional freight transport will be extended until 1 January 2021. Due to the corona crisis, negotiations for a new collective agreement had been suspended in recent months. In order not to leave the sector without a collective agreement any longer, unions and employers opted for an extension.
Members of trade unions FNV, CNV and De Unie agreed this week to the unchanged extension of the collective labour agreement, which actually expired on 1 January 2020. As all energy is focused on keeping companies healthy and securing employment, it was not possible to agree on a new collective agreement, according to the parties involved.
The CBA has been extended with retroactive effect from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2020. Employer organisations TLN and VVT, together with the unions, will apply to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment for a declaration of general binding, so that the agreements apply to all companies in the sector.
