Red je Pakketje has commissioned forty electric buses in the central Netherlands. The purchase is the first step towards a completely emission-free delivery network in the Netherlands.
In late 2020, Red je Pakketje received a green capital injection of EUR 12.5 million. With the money, the parcel delivery company is investing in a sustainable delivery network; immediately after the funding round, it placed an order for more than two hundred electric buses.
The first forty buses are now on the road in central Netherlands. The distribution centre in Utrecht has been equipped with a charging station by Vattenfall.
The company aims to achieve emission-free delivery in most of the Netherlands before the end of this year. The distribution centre in Amsterdam will also get a charging station, after which Red je Pakketje will be able to deliver electrically in North Holland, South Holland and Central Netherlands.
