Catering wholesaler Sligro is moving into a new distribution centre in Deventer. Aan de Stegge Twello started construction of the premises this week.
The location in Deventer, on the A1 business park, will be Sligro's central distribution point for the east and central Netherlands. The distribution centre will have an area of 20,000 square metres. It will employ around 200 people.
The building will include a 3,900 m² cold store, a 1,900 m² cold store, storage areas for dry groceries and a refrigerated multifunctional dispatch area. The front will have two loading pits with 30 docks for loading and unloading.
During construction, Aan de Stegge Twello is aiming for the BREAAM-Outstanding sustainability certificate, which means that no gas will be used in the building. Heating is provided by residual heat from the cooling and freezing installation.
Sligro expects to be operational in Deventer by mid-2019.
