TransFollow, provider of the digital waybill, has joined iSHARE's appointment system. Membership of the iSHARE system enables TransFollow's customers to share data more securely.
TransFollow offers shippers, logistics service providers and carriers the API specifications that enable integration of the digital waybill (eCMR) into their own business software, including in TMS, FMS, WMS or ERP systems. The company does so for customers in eight countries, including the Netherlands, Spain, France and the Czech Republic.
Joining the appointment system enables TransFollow customers to use iSHARE Single Sign-On: with one identity, they log in to eCMR platforms that are also affiliated to iSHARE and access various operational data. This way of working offers them certainty about the identity of parties with whom they share the data - for example, certainty that the person signing off the cargo is actually who he says he is, and is authorised to share this data.
"In particular, the development to also share logistics data with governments and authorities from the eCMR will be an important argument for our TransFollow users to support this initiative," says Hans Lip, COO of TransFollow. "What TransFollow also clearly has in mind is, together with iSHARE, to further develop the use of the system in Europe." As iSHARE gains more participants, TransFollow's customers will in future also be able to share data with parties they do not currently do business with. This is where the company believes there are opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
Gerard van der Hoeven, director of the iSHARE Foundation adds: "With TransFollow joining the system, an important step has been taken in reducing paper and physical transactions in logistics. Using iSHARE identities as access for portals and digital services will make it easier and safer for thousands of people in our industry to share data. And that is extremely important in these Corona times."
