There are plenty of logistics apps on the market: from mobile inventory management and order management to transport monitoring. But to what extent are these apps used in daily practice? To find out, AEB and the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) launched a study on the use of apps in logistics.

"We hope this study will help us find out if and how logistics managers and global trade professionals use business apps for their daily work," explains Dr Dirk H. Hartel, professor at DHBW Stuttgart. The study also looks at success factors and the potential threats posed by apps. In addition, the focus of the study is on the more general topics that will play a major role in logistics and international trade in the coming year, such as cost savings, legal protection and shorter lead times.

The companies invite logistics managers, supply chain professionals and anyone working in the field of customs and exports to participate in the survey via AEB's website. This can be done until 1 September 2016. The results will be published in the Global Trade Management Agenda: a survey focused on trends in international trade and logistics for the coming year, supplemented each year by a special theme.
