Docdata is doing well as a logistics service provider to retailers such as Bol.com, Asos, V&D and Bijenkorf. The company is riding nicely on the online success of the big players. The service provider turned over a turnover of 167 million euros in 2013, quite an increase compared to a few years earlier. According to Docdata, this increase can be attributed to the focus on e-commerce. "Collapsed consumer confidence has hit traditional retail hard, while online shopping has become increasingly popular. We are reaping the benefits of this," said Docdata's Alting van Geusau. For 2017, the company itself expects to double current sales.

Change of direction
A few years ago, Docdata was still operating as a CD and DVD duplicator and distributor. When the CD market collapsed, Docdata decided to change course and build a 50,000-square-metre warehouse in Waalwijk. The service provider now specialises in storing products for online retailers such as Bol.com and fashion giant ASOS.

Other activities
Docdata is now also active in Germany, Poland and Italy. Services for Zalando have been scaled back, as the e-tailer has started storing products itself. Docdata also provides payment systems for car parks, and its subsidiary IAI secures identity documents and banknotes.
