Transport and logistics sector offers opportunities for Wajongers looking for work. The annual business survey by the Transport and Logistics Sector Institute reveals that 7 per cent of companies in the sector employ a Wajonger. The largest group of Wajongers already employed by a company performs 'helping hands', but there are also many Wajongers working as drivers. Others work in the warehouse, are co-drivers or (assistant) movers.
Of logistics companies that do not yet employ a Wajonger, 23 per cent think there are opportunities for them. With the introduction of the Participation Act, many Wajongers are being put to work. The transport and logistics sector can play a big role in this. To give entrepreneurs a helping hand, the Sector Institute has published a white paper with research results, cases and a handy checklist.
