Entrepreneurs Miguel Baumann and Florian Brunsting have launched Redjepakketje.com, a service aimed at taking the frustration out of consumers who are not at home during the day.

It happens all too often that the customer is not at home at the time of delivery. Frustrating for both the consumer and the logistics provider. In many cases, they have to pay the extra costs for another delivery.

No delays in delivery
Redjepakketje.com wants to tackle this problem. Baumann and Brunsting collect the parcel at their address – the multi-tenant business premises – and then hop on their bikes to deliver it at a time of the customer’s choosing.
Redjepakketje.com sends a WhatsApp message in advance to the people whose parcels they have received. ‘Online shopping is known for its speed, so you don’t want to run into delays at the final stage,’ Brunsting told Het Parool.

Importantly, online shoppers themselves enter the address of the company's premises when placing the order and not their own address.

Dozens of sign-ups
The service costs consumers €4.50 on top of the existing delivery charges. That amount is set to go down in the future. “But first we need more users.” The company says it has already received dozens of sign-ups in the first week.
