Walmart has opened a state-of-the-art DC in Pennsylvania to serve customers better and faster. The largest retailer in the US wants to provide all online shoppers with their parcels within two days from this DC.

The new fulfilment centre will employ 400 people. Three more distribution centres will be opened later this year. With all these steps, Walmart hopes to stay ahead of competitor Amazon. For instance, the retailer previously launched ShippingPass: a programme similar to Amazon Prime, where customers take out a fixed subscription for delivery.
