Last week's Logistica trade fair, together with ICT & Logistiek, attracted slightly fewer visitors than the edition held in 2012. However, quality does take precedence over quantity, as the visitors' rating for the trade fair rose by two tenths to 7.5.

A total of 19,167 visitors visited Logistica. Only 406 fewer than three years ago. Many visitors said they were satisfied with the offer at the fair. 83 per cent thought the offer on the show floor was 'excellent and good', a higher percentage than three years ago when just over three quarters of visitors were satisfied with the offer.

Exhibitors also expressed satisfaction with the course of the fair. Brand manager Martijn de Weerd: "The recovering economy did not pass Logistica by. 34 per cent of visitors, according to our survey, travelled to Utrecht with concrete investment plans and walked across the exhibition floor with a well-filled wallet, to put it bluntly. Exhibitors in turn noticed this. I came across exhibitors who had already met their targets after three days. These are not exceptions."

Innovation highly visible
Visitors rated the way the market leaders among the exhibitors presented themselves and the visibility of innovation within the industry highly. After the lean years due to the financial crisis, companies are again climbing out of the valley where innovation is very important. To the great satisfaction of the visitors, this was also clearly visible at the fair. Exhibitors gave demonstrations to show the possibilities and put their companies in the spotlight. In addition, the atmosphere on the exhibition floor was good.

Next edition
Visitors indicated that, in all likelihood, they will return to the next Logistica. A date for the next edition is not yet known. The international exhibition agenda in 2018 is crowded. Jaarbeurs and Stichting Logistica are exploring the possibilities, with an emphasis on ensuring the widest possible support. A decision on this will be made in the coming months.
