De Verkeersonderneming will support companies in improving their logistics. Not only the chain will be taken in hand, the environment will also be looked at for a more efficient logistics process.
The programme, called Beter Benutten 2, focuses on the logistics sector in and around Rotterdam. Companies that sign up are supported by the traffic company in improving their logistics. Avoiding rush hour is an important aspect of this. There will be cooperation with park management, business associations, municipalities and individual companies.
Areas
The areas central to the programme are: Port of Rotterdam, Voorne Putten and Goeree-Overflakkee, Schiedam, Vlaardingen and Vijfsluizen, Midden-Holland, Drechtsteden, Rotterdam city centre and the municipalities of Barendrecht, Albrandswaard and Ridderkerk. Companies in this area can therefore apply for the route.
Better Use 1
The Verkeersonderneming programme is a follow-up to Beter Benutten 1, which was set up by the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. This focused on making distribution cleaner and improving accessibility.
