Zalando will start same-day delivery in eight additional cities in Germany. Anyone who places their order before four in the afternoon will get it delivered between seven and nine on the same day.
Previously, the etailer tested same-day delivery in Cologne and Berlin. Now, customers from Bochum, Bottrop, Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Essen, Gelsenkirchen, Gladbeck, Herne, Mühlheim and Oberhausen can also expect the delivery driver to arrive at their door within a few hours.
All parcels will be delivered from distribution centres in Brieselang and Mönchengladbach. For the service, Zalando is joining forces with Liefery, a logistics specialist that promises customers delivery within ninety minutes. For now, Zalando's expansion is still a trial. If same-day delivery appeals to customers, the delivery option will be offered as standard.

Parcel collection
Zalando is known for its flexible shipping policy. Not only do customers receive their parcels on the same day, but they can also return their orders free of charge up to 100 days after receipt. Customers use this to their heart's content: in fact, around half of the products ordered from Zalando are returned. In London, the percentage is possibly even higher. There, the etailer launched a trial of collecting parcels from customers' homes.
