Logistics service provider Docdata is not planning to return stock to bankrupt V&D. V&D is still in the getting for 1.5 million euros at Docdata. The Waalwijk-based service provider does not expect that amount to be paid, which is why it has decided not to return the goods, says RTL Z.
V&D applied for a moratorium on payments at the end of last year and shortly afterwards also closed its webshop, for which Docdata took care of e-fulfilment. However, most of the stock is still in Docdata's distribution centre. According to trustees Kees van de Meet and Hanneke de Coninck, Docdata is not actually allowed to keep these products because part of the stock formally belongs to owner-suppliers and therefore not to V&D. They retain ownership over these goods until the sale takes place. Moreover, the trustees would like to sell the goods in V&D's shops, which will remain open for the time being. "If the goods remain with Docdata, this will result in damage for all concerned," the receivers said in a letter to RTL Z.

53 million euro debt
Docdata would handle e-fulfilment for V&D until the end of January. After that, V&D would go into business with CB from Culemborg. In total, V&D has over 53 million euros outstanding with creditors. Besides Docdata, IT partner Capgemini is another major creditor. Here, V&D would still have an outstanding account of 945,000 euros.
