Iwan te Winkel was elected Logistics Manager of the Year during this edition. Te Winkel left finalists Carin Hendriksen and Eric Armstrang behind. The award for Young Logistics Talent went to Stefan Kleijngeld.

Today, the finalists presented themselves and their cases in the Jaarbeurs in front of the jury and the audience present. Iwan te Winkel, director of logistics at Raab Karcher, was judged the best by the five-member jury, consisting of Theo Heemskerk, Cosmas Hoefnagels, Annelies Leveling, Raymond Cools and René de Koster. "Iwan te Winkel has put himself across company boundaries. This really is logistics as a game changer," jury chairman Heemskerk said of the choice. The award was presented by Edwin Wenink, who won the title last year.

Te Winkel expressed his enthusiasm to act as ambassador for Logistics Manager of the Year in the coming year. The winner scored high with the Leanworks concept of Raab Karcher. With the Leanworks logistics concept, the distribution of materials to the construction site was approached differently. Whereas costs were the primary concern in the past, the focus is now on making the construction process as efficient as possible. Thus Raab Karcher ensures that materials from third parties are brought to the building site.

Young Logistics Talent
Stefan Kleijngeld, manager logistics at WP Haton, was elected Young Logistics Talent 2016, an award that was determined 50 per cent by the jury and 50 per cent by the audience present. Kleijngeld left behind Daniella Beljaars and Bart Louwen.

Partly thanks to Kleijngeld, WP Haton managed to shift its focus from a supply-driven production of industrial bakery machines to a demand-driven service. Together with suppliers, the company now focuses on developing innovative 'dough solutions' for customers.
