Albert Heijn has started testing 'instant delivery' in the capital, whereby groceries are delivered home within the hour. The supermarket chain reports this on its Twitter page.

Customers of the supermarket chain can order their groceries via the mobile application Appie Now. In doing so, they can choose from some fifteen hundred products that are the most sold nationwide. For delivery, Albert Heijn works together with startup Tring Tring. Deliverers will collect the groceries ordered online by bicycle from the branches on Elandsgracht and Museumplein.

For the service, consumers pay five euros per order. This money goes entirely to the delivery driver, the Levensmiddelenkrant writes. Appie Now is still being tested in Amsterdam for the next eight weeks.
