Logistics service provider CB will handle distribution for Boekencentrum Uitgevers from October. Boekencentrum currently uses its own warehouse, but believes it can benefit from a logistics specialist, especially in the field of 24-hour delivery and e-commerce logistics.
According to Boekencentrum Uitgevers, it was not an easy decision to outsource distribution. "After all, the warehouse has long been an inseparable part of our business," the company states in a joint statement. "We now choose CB, with whom we already have a long-term, good cooperation, including in the field of Print on Demand." The company stressed that its own warehouse was not doing badly, but that a logistics specialist could come in handy in certain areas.
For CB, it is the second larger publisher this year that chose to leave distribution to CB. "We are extremely happy with that," said Hans Willem Cortenraad, general director of CB.
