Bicycle delivery service Foodora now also delivers meals from restaurants in Rotterdam. The company started delivering in the city centre last week and hopes to expand to the rest of Rotterdam as soon as possible.

The meal delivery company says it first wants to have a minimum number of partners before expanding to other city districts. "Before we start in a new city, we aim for a minimum number of partners so that consumers have enough choice within their district," says country manager Vincent Hosman about the steady expansion.

Foodora is growing rapidly. The company delivered €150 million worth of orders last year. Last year, the number of orders is said to have doubled every two months. It says it now delivers 100 times more than it did two years ago.

It is the fourth Dutch city that Foodora visits. The meal delivery service already operated in Amsterdam, Utrecht and The Hague. Foodora currently operates in 36 cities in 10 different countries.
