Albert Heijn is driving around with a mobile Pick Up Point from next week where customers can collect their groceries ordered online. The supermarket chain wants to deploy the mobile pick-up point at locations where it is temporarily busier.

The mobile Pick Up Point will first visit Harlingen. Terschelling residents and tourists can pick up their groceries at the point on the Zuiderhaven before boarding the boat and take them back to the island.

As with regular delivery, customers can order their groceries on ah.nl. When checking out, they choose the location of the mobile Pick Up Point. The groceries are collected, taken to a distribution point near the temporary location and from there delivered to the location in a trailer. Customers drive by by car and an employee puts the groceries in the back.
