Logistics organisations need to work smarter and more efficiently to meet the needs of their customers. That is why this year's trade fair ICT & Logistics is in the theme of Disruptive Logistics. "It takes more than system innovation and Disruptive Logistics is the answer here," said Paul Verdult, brand manager at Jaarbeurs.
Synergy between people and technology
During the trade fair on 2 and 3 November, visitors will gain insight into developments in logistics, data storage, data security and service management. This will not only look at technology. "You can be disruptive with innovative technology, but it is precisely people who are the decisive or inhibiting factor. The central question is: how do you organise this synergy between technology, processes and people? During ICT & Logistics 2016, solutions will be shown and tools will be provided to make a concrete start in transforming and optimising the logistics organisation."
Subthemes during keynote sessions
There is a broad seminar programme with keynote sessions from different perspectives. The five sub-themes are: Transport, Warehouse & Distribution, Business Intelligence & Analytics, People & Environment and Sales & Operation Planning. In attendance, for instance, is Walther Ploos van Amstel, guru in the logistics sector and specialising in urban distribution. Jack van der Veen is professor of Supply Chain Management at Nyenrode Business University and attached to the EVO Chair of Supply Chain Management. He will lecture on the need for a change in corporate culture aimed at collaboration and innovation in the supply chain. Eugene Kersjes, vice president of Ricoh Supply Chain Management, talks about the refurbishment of Ricoh's progressive distribution centre.
