Den Hartogh Logistics has been named the best employer in the Transport and Logistics sector. With a score of 7.8, the company outperformed the Schiphol Group at the Best Employers Event. Vanderlande was also voted the best employer in the Netherlands, winning in two categories.

The Best Employer Survey was conducted for the sixteenth time this year by Effectory and Intermediair. Den Hartogh Logistics and Schiphol Group were the only two companies nominated in the Transport and Logistics category. It was a neck-and-neck race between the two organisations. Indeed, Schiphol Group, which went home with the title last year, scored only 0.1 per cent lower on the survey.

Den Hartogh: Freedom and personal growth

When the nominations were announced earlier, Den Hartogh revealed that being a good employer is high on its agenda. "Through training and instruction, Den Hartogh constantly invests in its employees. Employees are encouraged to come up with creative solutions within our complex logistics organisation. This freedom and room for personal growth are highly appreciated."

Vanderlande wins in two categories

Vanderlande took the title in the 'profit with more than 1,000 employees' and 'manufacturing and industry' categories. The transportation systems manufacturer received a score of 8.0 in terms of overall employee satisfaction. According to Vanderlande, this high figure can be attributed to the high level of pride, motivation and commitment felt among employees. "This also reflects the positive way in which the entire organisation strives to achieve its clear strategic goals and helps us attract additional talent to the labour market," said HR Director Bert van der Sluis. "Vanderlande's people are key to our continuous further development and the strong emphasis we place on the ethos of teamwork and responsibility. This is why we offer an innovative, technical working environment with a wide range of personal development opportunities, thanks in part to our Academy and talent development programmes."
