Jumbo entrepreneurs will not always be obliged to buy or lease a Jumbo delivery van in the future. So writes Distrifood.

Earlier, entrepreneurs had to buy a yellow bus from Jumbo if they wanted to start online delivery. That obligation is still there, but Jumbo does not want to delay retailers who already have a good delivery van in starting online delivery. Indeed, for some retailers it would be a reason not to start e-commerce yet.

Jumbo delivers groceries ordered online from its physical shops. These serve as transfer points, as order picking is done in from the efilfilment centre in Den Bosch. Meanwhile, more than a hundred stores participate in Jumbo's online shop. The supermarket chain aims to double this number in 2017. Jumbo opened its three hundredth pick-up point earlier this month.
