Dutch goods exports rose by almost 8 per cent in February. This is the strongest increase since February 2011, reports the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).
Both exports of Dutch product and re-exports were higher in February than a year earlier. Exports of machinery and equipment, chemical products and transport equipment rose in particular. The volume of imports rose by 4 per cent in February. Exports of goods account for about 75 per cent of total Dutch exports.
CBS said that in April, conditions for goods exports were considerably more positive than in February. For instance, exchange rates developed favourably and the situation in German industry improved.
