Linde Material Handling has acquired German start-upup Comnovo. With the acquisition, the forklift manufacturer aims to expand its portfolio of safety solutions and technology in the field of positioning equipment.

Start-up Comnovo has developed a positioning system: it works on the basis of ultrabroadband technology and uses signals and vibrations to warn people of approaching vehicles. Thanks to a high frequency of at least four gigahertz, the system can see through pallets, rolling doors and even walls.

Linde believes it has found a dynamic and creative partner in Comnovo. "Together we will expand Linde's range of support systems and further develop them systematically for our customers."

Comnovo sales director Ron Winkler says: "Linde MH's efficient distribution network is unprecedented in this sector. Both parties will be able to exploit entirely new opportunities for product development and market penetration." Following the acquisition by Linde Material Handling, Comnovo will continue to operate as an independent company.
