Zalando customers who want their parcels delivered faster can take out a subscription service with the retail giant for that purpose. For 19 euros a year, they will get access to faster delivery, same-day delivery and returns will be collected from them.
Zalando announced this on Tuesday when presenting its quarterly figures. The premium service 'Zalando Zet', reminiscent of Amazon's Prime subscription service, is being tested in German cities such as Berlin, Frankfurt and Leipzig. In three months, the service will be rolled out nationwide. It is not yet known when it will be the turn of other countries.
Zalando currently does not charge shipping costs, but shipping often takes several days. For faster delivery, the German company works with Express delivery that costs 9.95 euros each time. Returns are not covered by this.

With the loyalty programme, Zalando hopes to retain regular customers. The etailer aims for sales growth between 20 and 25 per cent a year. In the first half of 2017, it met that target: sales rose 21 per cent to over 2 billion euros.
