Linde is expanding its portfolio of lithium-ion powered trucks before the end of the year. Sales of the first electric trucks with 90V Li-ion battery have just started. The Roadster is now also available with lithium-ion battery.

Linde is betting on the technology because it is said to be reliable, energy-efficient and easy to use. This is due in part to its constant voltage and greater fleet availability as intermediate charging is possible at any time, so Stefan Prokosch, Head of Product Management Counterbalance Trucks at Linde MH, expects the expansion of the lithium-ion portfolio to be reflected in sales figures. "We receive very consistently positive feedback from customers using the smaller series of trucks with lithium-ion technology," says Prokosch.

To ensure that the forklift gets enough power, Linde has placed an emphasis on building lithium cells. These cells deliver a nearly constant voltage of 90V. This reduces the thermal load on the forklift and would therefore generate higher efficient energy consumption.
