Jungheinrich is realising a warehouse in Germany for pump manufacturer Kracht. The distribution centre covers 3,500 square metres and will be fully automated.
The building in Werdohl, Germany, is based on silo construction; the warehouse racks are part of the supporting structure. Jungheinrich supplies the automated warehouse cranes that operate the pallet storage - with 5,100 pallet spaces. An automated miniload crane operates the 12,000 totes in the small goods storage. Automatic conveyors lead the pallets and totes to the order picking hall right next to the pallet storage. Here, sixty pallets and 140 totes can be picked per hour. A Jungheinrich Warehouse Management System controls the automatic warehouse.
The distribution centre should be completed this summer. The construction involves a sum of 7.7 million euros. Ultimately, Kracht wants to use it both to handle orders for customers and to supply its own production. This will give it more space in its production halls for the production process.
