Consumers can now send letters via DHL's ServicePoints. Through a collaboration with Sandd, one hundred DHL ServicePoints have already been converted into postal points.
Sandd is marketing its own stamp, making it the first alternative for sending mail to home addresses. Until now, Sandd's network was mainly used for delivering business mail. Now individual consumers can also send and receive mail via Sandd. The service points are used as drop-off points for mail and points of sale for stamps.
Sandd offers a lower price than regular stamps. Sandd makes up that difference in price by only delivering on Tuesdays and Fridays. So consumers who want urgent mail delivery still depend on regular mail, but recent research by the ACM shows that mail delivery is becoming less urgent. Moreover, almost two-thirds of consumers and SMEs find the stamp price of 0.78 euros too high.
In the near future, as many DHL ServicePoints as possible will be connected to the Sandd network.
