The Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment is reserving 30 million euros for innovations to make the transport sector more sustainable. By investing in electric parcel delivery or hydrogen-powered transport, the central government wants to accelerate the transition to sustainable transport.

The scheme, called Demonstration Scheme for Climate Technologies and Innovations in Transport (DKTI-Transport), is intended for entrepreneurs and knowledge institutions from the sector that are committed to making the sector more sustainable. They can claim financial support.

The idea must first be assessed by an independent expert group. After that, the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland decides whether to grant a subsidy. The scheme runs until 2021.
