Logistics service provider DB Schenker has opened a logistics centre in Madrid on a 60,000-square-metre site. This is DB Schenker's largest logistics centre in Spain.

The new logistics centre covers eight football pitches, consisting of two warehouses and an office building. The first warehouse (10,170 square metres) is set up as a cross-dock area and has 112 hydraulic docks for loading and unloading. The second warehouse (1,680 square metres) serves to store air and sea freight shipments. This building can be expanded to 2,900 square metres in the future.

From the new location, DB Schenker will handle domestic and international land transport and project activities as well as air and sea freight. DB Schenker is already one of the largest transport companies in Spain with 29 owned offices. The logistics provider is keen to continue growing in the country. The construction of the new building involves an investment of 22 million euros. The building will employ around 150 people.
