Eurotec has launched an extremely low AGV. The Lowpad has a height of just 12 centimetres, which is about 30 centimetres lower than common AGVs.

With the introduction of the Lowpad, Eurotec says it is ushering in a "new era for goods transport in warehouses". The developer of high-tech applications for logistics has therefore applied to the Dutch patent office for the Lowpad.

Using the Lowpad does not require any changes to the warehouse infrastructure: positioning of the Lowpad is done wirelessly. The Lowpads are controlled by overhead software, which can be integrated into the customer's existing system.

The Lowpad has been released in a series of different models that can be used in parallel. "Thus, the Lowpads can perform many tasks that ease the physical work of order pickers and improve warehouse efficiency," Eurotec said in a press release. For example, the Lowpad can be used for order picking methods such as the goods-to-person concept.
