The revamped Logistica has made a good start. That's the conclusion after 3 days of fair. "With a changed frequency, more attention to knowledge sharing and a focus on solutions for logistics issues, it is still always exciting what visitors think of it," said Martijn de Weerd, brand manager of Jaarbeurs, and Jan Hommes, director of the Logistica Foundation.

Logistica and ICT & Logistics welcomed 15,417 and 7,358 visitors respectively last week, who were inspired by the exhibitors, knowledge sessions, exhibition tours and during the demonstrations at the Logistica Scala's.

Focused search for solutions
Many visitors came to the fair with a clear goal: focused search for solutions. Exhibitors clearly noticed this at their stands and during a presentation, with the main result being plenty of trade. "Exhibitors, without exception, let it be known that they were satisfied," indicates fair manager Martijn de Weerd.

Jan Hommes, director of the Logistica Foundation, adds: "Logistics is at the top of many companies' priority list. Nowhere else than at this fair will you find the suppliers who can help with that. And that help is much in demand, as I understood from the reactions of our exhibitors".

Knowledge and applications
Besides the stands of the more than 300 exhibitors of Logistica and ICT & Logistics, visitors could also visit 8 exhibition theatres. A wide range of topics were discussed there, ranging from WMS, robotics, supply chain finance, to safe working. Of the Logistica visitors, 1 in 3 attended one or more knowledge sessions. As many as 45% of ICT & Logistiek visitors attended one or more presentations.

Logistica's Scalas were also well attended. Over 40% of Logistica visitors were inspired by the applications shown here by cooperating exhibitors. And even just under 30% of ICT & Logistics visitors managed to find their way to one or more Scalas.

"The expansion of the number of ranges from two in 2015 to four for this edition, and the strengthening of the knowledge programme, including with the Day of the Warehouse and the Trends in Warehousing workshops, are enrichments for the concept of the fair," the two gentlemen reveal.

Special mention deserves the Hydrogen Plaza, where visitors could learn about hydrogen technology and its application in forklifts. The entire chain from energy production, through storage and refuelling, to its use in a forklift was showcased. "Innovative technology that, in the context of sustainability and CO2 reduction, will be applied more and more in the coming years," said initiator Jan Hommes.
