DHL Parcel and bpost are to collaborate under the name 'The Benelux deliverers'. Belgian consumers who place an order with a Dutch webshop in the evening will have their order delivered the next day, and vice versa.

Stimulating cross-border e-commerce

By joining forces under the name 'The Benelux Deliverymen ' , DHL and bpost aim to further stimulate crossborder e-commerce. The non-exclusive cooperation includes delivery, sorting, delivery and returns of online orders.

In a press release, Wouter van Benten, CEO of DHL Parcel Benelux, says: "The collaboration between bpost and DHL makes a huge potential of Belgian web shoppers available to Dutch webshops and makes cross-border ordering, receiving and returning easier."

Next day delivery

This means that Belgian consumers who place an order with a Dutch webshop will enjoy next-day delivery. They can expect a delivery driver from bpost at their door the next day. Conversely, Dutch web shopper can already visit Belgian online shops for some time to get it delivered the next day with DHL.

Vereenvoudigen retourzendingen

DHL Parcel and bpost see the simplicity of returns as one of the major advantages of the cooperation. Returning from the Netherlands to Belgium and vice versa is just as easy as for domestic orders, according to the parties. Together, the parcel carriers have more than 4,400 service points; over 1,900 in the Netherlands and 2,500 in Belgium.
