FedEx Express will remain a sponsor of the UEFA Europa League until at least 2021. In addition to professional sponsorship, the express transport company provides programmes aimed at giving young players better access to the sport.
FedEx Express has already been the main sponsor of the UEFA Europa League for the past three seasons. On Wednesday, it announced to extend the sponsorship for the 2018 to 2021 seasons.
Physical and digital connections
"Football proves time and again that it connects people from different backgrounds through shared passion for the sport," said Raj Subramaniam, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, FedEx Corp. "Football's role in connecting people reflects what we at FedEx, as a global leader in the logistics industry, do every day - namely, create physical and digital connections that open up new opportunities for individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses large and small."
Field in a Box
Together with the UEFA Foundation for Children, the transport company is also engaged in programmes for youth. "In addition to our professional sponsorship, our partnership with the UEFA Foundation for Children also enables us to set up programmes such as Field in a Box™," said Bert Nappier, President of FedEx Express Europe and CEO of TNT Express. "In doing so, we provide young players with better access to the sport, creating new opportunities for local communities and neighbourhoods. Our team is incredibly proud of this aspect of this sponsorship."
