Bol.com is expanding its executive board with a director of logistics, with Olaf van den Brink appointed as the person ultimately responsible for the department. The new executive position should contribute to bol.com's growth: "The importance of logistics will only increase further in the future."
Van den Brink, previously employed by CEVA Logistics, joined bol.com in 2015. He was already responsible for the daily management of the Logistics department from the headquarters in Utrecht. Until now, however, the final responsibility lay with ceo Huub Vermeulen.
'Importance of logistics increases'
A Director of Logistics must support bol.com's growth strategy. "The importance of logistics for bol.com will only increase further in the future in order to continue to meet customer expectations," Vermeulen said in a press release. "A strong strategic vision is necessary in this regard. We are therefore convinced that an executive position for the Logistics department will make an important contribution to the further growth of bol.com and we have great confidence in Olaf in this position."
Management board bol.com
The executive board of bol.com now consists of six members: Huub Vermeulen (managing director, CEO), Gert-Jan Janssen (director Finance, Operations & Legal, CFO), Jurrie van Rooijen (director IT, CTO), Margaret Versteden (director Stores, CCO), Boukje Taphoorn (director Marketing, CMO) and Olaf van den Brink (director Logistics, COO).
