Reesink Logistics Solutions is expanding its operations into Germany. Royal Reesink has acquired warehousing supplier AM Gruppe for this purpose.

Reesink Logistic Solutions is a total supplier in the field of warehousing and logistics, including warehouse racking, stacker cranes, conveyors and in-house developed software. German AM Gruppe, consisting of AM Automation GmbH and AM Lagertechnik GmbH, offers automated warehouse solutions and conveyor systems. In early 2019, Royal Reesink bought the German company, allowing Reesink Logistics Solutions and AM Gruppe to work closely together.

Total solution

The collaboration with AM Gruppe gives the Duiven-based warehouse supplier a foothold in the German market. The two warehouse suppliers offer a total solution for warehouses with their services and products.

"We are seeing a huge increase in demand for automated warehouse systems," explains managing director Joop Uijlen. "This is due to the growth of e-commerce and online shops, but also to the limited availability of warehouse space and industrial sites. Companies often cannot grow in width due to limited availability. An automated high-bay warehouse or the AutoStore system with high storage density then becomes interesting."

Uijlen continues: "AM is big with the AutoStore system. Within this cooperation, they will also enter the German market with our products."

LogiMAT kick-off

The suppliers hope to create a synergy effect with the cooperation. Uijlen: "The kick-off of our cooperation was during the LogiMAT in Stuttgart. Visitors could come to our two stands, in both Hall 1 and 2, with all their questions. A referral to the right specialist was then quickly made. The cooperation gives us access to a wealth of experience and together we can serve our customers even better."

Refurbishing existing systems

One of the topics on the joint agenda is refurbishing existing systems. "Whereas in a conventional warehouse the forklift is worn out after eight years, a warehouse crane lasts at least 15 years. After that, the crane can be converted and adapted to the updated needs and requirements. Apart from the cost advantages this offers, it is also in line with sustainable and circular thinking. AM has a lot of expertise in this field, which is why we are pulling together on this," says Uijlen.
