A new return service from bpost means online shops no longer need to include a standard return label with their parcels. Belgian consumers wishing to return their order can now have the return label scanned and printed at a post office or parcel point.
Some webshops do not send a standard return label with the parcel, but send it to consumers by e-mail, for example. In Belgium, however, a third of the population does not have a workable printer, says bpost. For them, the Belgian parcel company is launching a new service: Print@Retail.
Customers can receive a barcode for returns via the webshop's account (it must be affiliated with bpost's service). The barcode is scanned and printed by the post office or parcel point.
Print@Retail is already available to some of bpost's major customers. Among others, bol.com is said to use the service. "Print@Retail benefits both the webshops themselves and the consumers," a bpost spokesperson told Gondola. "The advantage for the webshop is that it no longer has to put a return label in every parcel. The system is also easy for the end customer. He or she requests the return label and receives the barcode for his return via e-mail. At the post office or post point, he shows the barcode on his smartphone and the label is printed out."
